Large screen help please

Do you mind me asking why you do it this way? I can't think why you wouldn't want to have the video going through it

Personally can't see the attraction of this, there are no downsides to using the amp and better speakers bar a tiny bit of electricity, but when running a large plasma electricity consumption arguements go out of the window anyway :D I have a major gripe with inbuilt speakers in TVs, especially lcd/plasmas, they all grate on my ears
