As of Feb 08:
0-120 co2s, £0/day
120-225 co2s, £8/day
225+ £25/day (what tosh).

Furthermore, if your car is a "hybrid" or an "alternative fuel" vehicle, that means bugger all unless it emits less than 120co2s.

So my question is this - what will be the largest new car that will be exempt from the CC as of Feb 08 when the regulations change? Is it the Prius? - that's the largest I've managed to think of so far.

It's really daft to spend £15-20k on a car with whether you can save 8 quid a weekday on the congestion charge as the primary motivator - if you actually live within the zone you get a huge discount anyway and if you dont taking a car in, even if its free, is a nightmare anyway.

But Fox, if he is moving from a £25/day car it will save him nearly £6000 in just one year of going to work inside London. Thats not insignificant!

That's not what Fox was getting at? I think he was more raising the question of who works inside the congestion zone (i.e. central London) and actually "drives" there... on a daily basis? And if that is the case why not get the tube like everybody else? ;)

He's not though - and people just don't drive to work in Central London, unless they are very rich city executives with private parking and thus couldnt give a stuff about the C charge.
