Right im off to vegas in a couple of weeks, just need a bit of advice. I've picked up some travel guides, looked on the web etc. I've got another couple of questions, if someone would be nice and kind :)

1) - How much do they expect you to tip?
2) - Is it expensive to eat/drink?
3) - Is it difficult to get from the airport? How much are the limos?

I remember seeing something about a gunshop and trying guns out, was that expensive?

IIRC the gunshop is expensive, something silly like 50 quid for 30 bullets.

Tipping is supposed to be between 10-20% depending on how good the service is but at the end of the day it's entirely up to you how much to tip.

Eating and drinking is quite cheap, just hit the buffets and have as much as you want :D

Another thing, Vegas is awesome!

1) 15-25%, tipping is a big part of the Vegas culture, more so than the rest of the states. 10% is a little low imo.
2) Not very - again, more reason to give a little more on the tip (they get paid pretty naff wages!)
3) Dunno about limo's but pretty much the only place that cabs from the airport goto is the strip, so dead easy to find one (or the shuttle things)

Limo's not to bad but its really not that far to the Strip - they do Mini Cab type services for $8 or something, thats what we did :)

Tipping is very big, if its a meal a good 15% or so, if its the waitresses/waitors in the casino's while your gambling a few bucks - s'pose depends on your drink.

Prices for dinner can vary, Top of The World is expensive, McDonalds isnt, depends on the calibur of meal.

More importantly you will have an amazing time!

What's the shopping like? Expensive?

Again, depends.

There are very expensive shops, especially in Ceasers - but they do have a lot of Factory Outlet Malls (2/3 i think) where you can get some bargains, i went into the CK shop spent £125 and came out with 2 pairs of genes, 3 t-shirts and a Jacket :)

is the beer expensive?

Drunk more spirits myself - if your gambling your drinks are free the girls walk around and you can have what you like, just tip then - $2 got me a triple vodka lemonade - and damn was it strong, was 70% vodka!!!

i just got back a few week ago .

quite a few places have service charge included so watch out.

food and drink can be as expensive or as cheap as you like.

eg quite a few places do 1 doller a bottle which is what 60-70p
then if you go to the wynn its about 6 dollers a bottle.

dont bother about a limo at the airpot, total waste ,just jump on the bus/coach
think it was about 5 dollers takes you right to your hotel.

the gun shop is a bus ride away 2 dollers
its $40 dollers for 50 rounds
i would not advise you use automatic weapons( money is gone in seconds):D

quick edit it also helps a lot if your hotel is central as this will save you a lot of money ie on the bus /taxis

ie caesars palace flamingo imperial palace are very central
and can walk most places from there

would also recoment a trip to old town vegas

Hotel for 2 weeks (Excalibur) = £200
Flight = £300

Spending money = £1500

Gambled about £200 and came home ~£60 up :) wasnt a big gambler just did a bit of blackjack.

Ate out at a few nice places, and went to Grand Canyon which i highly recommend, most of my cash went on Clothes though as needed a new wardrobe
