Anyone stayed in any of the hotels out there. Big ones or smaller ones.

Thinking of spending some of my cash ona trip out there in September time and wonder which are good value ones.

They all look good on the net, but they would wouldnt they, need 1st hand knowledge really.

Stayed in Ballys which is a good location and the room was decent enough. Good value hotel really.

How long are you staying as a few days in Vegas was enough for me as I got bored quickly. However, book a Grand Canyon tour.

Planning on going for 2 weeks. not sure if we would stay in LV for 2 weeks but would like somewhere to come back too with a well stocked fridge, if you knwo what i mean. Looking at pricies it maybe a godo idea for us to rent a holiday home there instead as they seem a bit steep...

I think we plan on going to San Fran too for a few days. GC, Death Valley and anywhere else we can get to within a 1/2 days drive really.

Anyone know what the Venetian is like? From the reviews and what I've read it sounds awesome. I'm going next year as part of my honeymoon.

rooms are big but a bit tired in the onginal part of the hotel, they are just starting a refit and I reckon this should be done by next year when you go

it is one of the high end hotels probably just below the Bellagio and Wynn

here are the official ratings

and here is a review type post I did ages ago, this covers all main hotels

As Rotty said, the Venetian, Wynn and Bellagio are the high end hotels. I've stayed in Paris, which is pretty good, the Flamingo Hilton, which is a bit tired but in a great position on the strip, and the Hilton which is probably a bit too far off the strip. To be honest most of the main hotels are pretty good, big rooms, decent service etc.

Thoroughly recommend you book up a Grand Canyon helicopter tour, its fantastic. They will fly you out over Hoover Dam then on to the Canyon, and then right down the strip on the return journey. Well worth the money imho.

don't know of anyone that does the real part of the GC by helicopter anymore, the only ones I know of go to the west canyon ( west rim )

Stayed in the Venetian about 5-6 years ago, it was a pretty amazing hotel, but fairly pricey.

would have been failry new then, the current refurb should bring it back to that standard :)

I've stayed in the Venetian twice and also Treasure Island once. The Venetian is obviously better, but you do pay for it.

To be honest you'll hardly be in the room, so don't spend too much. Keep your money for gambling!

TI is very good for the money, rooms are perfectly adequate

I've stayed at Caesars Palace, and found it to be great value. The rooms were great, and only cost about £65 a night.

that price is unusually cheap for CP , also the base level rooms are poor, you need to be in one of the newer towers and these cost more

Ive stayed at luxor, getting on a bit now but still an excellant hotel. If im honest all the hotels on the strip are very good!

Casino Royale ? Circus Circus ? New Frontier ? :D

I stayed at the Hilton, just off the strip. No gimmicks but still a very nice place.

I was 15 with a full beard and wandered the casino floor freely, while my 20 year old bro was ejected as soon as he set foot on the carpet, hehe...

Hilton isn't bad at all if you can live with the location, the monorail will help there though ( about the only place the monorail is any use for though )
