Last Spec check - please (£1500ish)

Hi guys,

After doing my research i've decided that this is the setup im going to be getting:



Totals up at : £1,542.49 inc postage

Is there anything you would change with it?

I wanted to keep the case since it goes with the other items.

The only thing i wasnt sure about is the motherboard and graphics card.

The 4x Hdds - im not sure as to go for raid or just normal sata, but i really need the 1TB storage for now atleast.

I'll be ordering after the 20th of Jan in hope that new CPUs come out and i can change over to that.
 
I'd get a tuniq tower or a thermalight 120 extreme cooler myself

looks good overall though
 
Raid 5 - i was under the impression that wouldnt be of any benefit to me? I was going for raid 1, but maybe i should reconsider.

As for the cooler - i would have like to get something bigger, but i dont think it would fit in the case? Would it?

If your worried about loosing data, raid5 is great. Loose one disk you don't loose any data but loose 2 then you loose everything. I would choose raid5 over raid1 but thats just personal preference I would rather have more space and a decent backup setup. Than less space with a decent backup setup.

And I doubt you can get a bigger cooler in that case.
 
Yes, i think you guys are right there - i've just done my reading on raid 5.
(a side question, if one drive was to fail - would it just be a simple matter of replacing it, and raid will do the rest or a reformat and start again?)

But you think the motherboard is fine, and i shouldnt go SLi?
