Late 2009 MBP Hinge Creak and Screen Blemishes

Hi all,

When I move the screen on my late 2009 MBP it feels sticky and makes a creaking/cracking noise when it does move.

Also I've got a couple of blemish marks on the screen - they are small areas about 5mm square where the colour is not what it should be. They are on the left side of the screen about 30mm apart.

Anyone had anything like this? It's under Applecare so should I just take it into an Apple store?

Just wondering if anyone else had experienced these things on these machines and what the Apple guys are likely to do about it.
 
More than likely if you've applecare they will just replace the screen.

Make out that if affects you using it etc and that you really do want it changed.
 
9 times out of 10 they wont bat an eyelid and just change the part.

If they are awkward then call Applecare direct and as for it to be escalated - say you got bad service and they'll sort a repair for you :p
 
Brilliant. Do they change it on the spot or does it have to be kept in/sent away?

I doubt they will do it on the spot at the moment due to Xmas etc.

If they need to order a part just ask them to call you when its in stock and then get them to repair it on the day. Don't leave your mac there as you don't know when you'll get it back.
