Although technically not a new album, it's a mixtape but it feels so good to hear Eminem rapping again and nothing lame like the last 2 albums, this is more like the early angry Em that we all fell in love with

Just wanted to gives folks a heads up because after his last 2 albums, most people might let this pass them by without giving it a chance, it is thoroughly good!

Kinda shows how many people really were gutted with Encore & Curtain Call...if i'd mentioned a new album post Marshall Mathers/Eminem Show this would have had loads of replies!

I let curtian call slip past, I had encore but it got stolen, I did not see the need to rebuy it. I am looking forward to this album and will pick it up as soon as I can. But there is a part of me that thinks I may be disapointed.

Might have to check this one out. I absolutely loved the first album, god knows how many times that got played whilst me and my mates were getting smashed.

The slim shady LP was outstanding. Easily his best work, although not his techically best work. From what I understand Eminem cant stand to listen to/perform most of those songs these days because he thinks they are all gash. Which is a shame because I think that was easily his most creative album. It is a very close call between that and the Marshall Mathers LP. But imo the Slim Shady lp gets it.

Actually looking back imo his work had gotten worse (if only slightly) each album. So on that basis I am a bit worried.

Yup. 'My fault' is a classis tune, it all disappeared when he stopped incorparating his dark sense of humour into his songs.

Don't understand how he could think the first stuff was bad? The album was amazing - I've not known any rapper be able to tell a story that well through his lyrics and conjure up a scene in the mind's eye like that. The man has talent. I thought some of his later stuff was just cringe-worthy.

have been listening to Eminem since the slim shady LP. Personally I think that some of his latest stuff is still very good indeed but some of it it frankly poop. I think he is at his best when he's making a point, his sharp satire on American beliefs and culture and his social comment are easily his strong points!!!

His stuff about gang rivallry etc etc, while it may betrue to the streets where he grew up, is very basic subject matter and for the most part really isn't saying anything worthwhile.

I thought his first album was crap (Infinite) but everything that followed was awesome including the last two.
There again at my age I haven't got anybody telling me whats good and whats not so I just listen.

Stop bringing up your age as a defence for your opinion, gawd!

I thought everything he did till encore was fantastic. Then it all became a bit stale, and stuck in a kind of 'I love halie' self parody. The 'funny' songs on encore were aweful, and the beats were drab.

I wish he would have retired and just left it all alone. Now his track record is so tainted I don't see him coming out of it :(

 How rude.

I'll bring it up again.
At my age I can't hear any difference between his second album (Slim Shady) to the last album (it all sounds the same).
Even when he starts rapping on that Akon (?) single the hairs on my neck stand up.
I think he's a genius - end of.

Tbh.. (apart from Inifnite where he just doesn't sounds as good) all his albums are great imo..

Yeah the last two didn't have as big an impact as the previous 2 but I still believe they were good.
A few tracks were duff.. but overall I liked them.

Just listening to the re up now.. seems good stuff so far :)

After repeated listens i'm starting to rate the Re-Up at the same level as Marshal Mathers / Eminem Show era...can't get enough of it, just a shame it's not a proper album and just a mixtape!

I think infinite is a great album, a side of Eminem completely different to all this other stuff.

I will have to look into this mixtape, dont really like the poppy stuff he is has done IE Smack that.

Well, just got a copy of this album and have to say I'm really enjoying it. Wouldn't exactly call it an Eminem album though as he only features on less than half of the tracks and the ones that he does feature on aren't the best on the album (imo of course).

The 4 songs which stand out to me the most on the album are the 3 produced by The Alchemist (''We ride for Shady'', ''There he is'' and ''Tryin' ta win'') and the only Dre-produced song ''Get low'' which is by far my favourite tune so far.

Overall, I'd say the album is excellent but in no way can you compare it to Marshall Mathers LP/Slim Shady LP as it is a totally different style and anyone expecting much rapping from Em himself will not be too pleased as it is more of an album showing the new talent Em has signed to his label (which I have to say are all very good).

*EDIT* - Forgot one very important thing. ''No Apologies'', the very last tune on the album is an Eminem solo and is also an excellent tune, I'd say it's Eminem back to his old self.
