** LATEST GIGABYTE LAPTOPS NOW AVAILABLE FROM OcUK INCLUDING P35K / P34G!! **

Thanks for the reply BlkKnight.

A little bit worrying that QC failed to pick this up. Makes you wonder what else they have overlooked.

4.5hrs is encouraging. How much undervolting is required to get kind of lifetime.

Slightly bent

I just requested to return my laptop and get a new one from a different shipment. Hopefully, this issue will be fixed with Gigabyte using better shipment protection.

Mine is not as bent as the other ones I've seen on this forum and also on NBReview but the soft spot is there and I can also feel the touchpad having one corner slightly pushed inside of the laptop, the near left corner. Also, the near right rubber foot is slightly off the ground, I'd say maybe less than 1mm, so I had to look very closely to notice this. I wouldn't have noticed my laptop is bent if it weren't for the other posts.

You can see the chassis soft spot in the image.

Can anyone with the P35K confirm something for me?

Is there a cutout on the laptop that's covered with plastic?
(It was originally supposed to be a thunderbolt port)

From the Gigabyte facebook page:

1: The P35K hairline phenomenon on the top chassis edge near the DVD drive (ODD) is due to inadequate packaging of the P35K box. This hairline phenomenon has been assessed and further tests have shown that the new and improved packaging is an effective solution. This solution has been confirmed by the experimental report attached ->http://goo.gl/OiB5dx . All poorly packaged shipment has been fully recovered, and consumers can rest assured to make a purchase in the near future with the new and improved packaging.
Our commitment to delivering a unique product like the P35K has been overshadowed by this unfortunate incident. We apologize for the inconvenience and the further delay in the availability of the product.

2: Consumers who have purchased the P35K before October 18th, 2013, please note the following:
(1) If you have purchased the P35K, you may return the P35K to your reseller for a new unit with original proof of purchase. This scheme is effective only till 6:00pm December 31, 2013.
(2) If you are satisfied with the current unit and choose not to return/replace, we will provide free maintenance service for a five-year period (beginning from the time you purchased the unit) only for the top chassis near the DVD body of the unit. (intentional damage will not be covered under this warranty). This is our commitment and confidence in our products.

If these laptops bend inside a carefully paged box, why won't it bend in my laptop bag? I.e. surely Gigabyte need to strengthen the laptop chassis?

XRobbieX27,

Can you comment on how flimsy the laptop is compared to other gaming laptops?

I cant compare it to other gaming laptops as i've never had one. However i think its very sturdy. Considering how thin it is. I wouldn't chuck it around obviously but its perfectly capable and not flimsy at all.

Overall feels very well made to me. I'm recommending them left right and center.

Sorry to bother you some more...

I just keep hearing so many inconsistent thoughts about this laptop.

Can you check if it flexes at all near,
the trackpad?
The keyboard edges and center?
Screen?
DVD bay?

And I mean any flex, but if it's a flex that's not bothersome please state so.

My track pad doesn't flex at all. The keyboard does slightly in the corners if I push down hard but I am imagine that's to be expected. While typing it is fine and very sturdy. I havnt noticed it flexing at all. The screen is fine. Obviously it is very thin so i wouldn't try bending it haha but its as sturdy as it needs to be. The DVD bay moves up and down very slightly on mine. I think most laptops have that though.

Overall as i said before its an incredible machine and i am thoroughly impressed. As Gigabyte said the main problem was with their packaging which meant any of the laptops which got chucked around a bit (which does happen in transit) suffered.

I can guarantee you if you bought it you would love it haha. But i can only give you my word. Hope this answers your questions.

I have a question, I bought the P35k on the understanding it shipped with a Nvidia Geforce 765m 2GIG.
Why then does this card not show on my system and the only setting in my display drive is for an Intel HG Graphics 4600!!!
I tried a game and it plays like a dog, has someone not included my card?
Also on the Geforce experience it says none of the profiling is available as my system doesn't meet the standards. I've also tried to get into the nvidia control panel in the control panel and it says no nvidia card is present WTF!!!

That definitely doesn't sound right :/ Contact Gigabyte or Overclockers directly i guess.

Yep I'm fuming.
There is no Nvidia card in this laptop!

Just tried a manual install of the Nvidia drivers and it says no suitable Graphics card.
I received this laptop with the seal broken and a note saying it had been checked for damages, either someone has stolen my card or there was never one put in!

OCUK I am livid right now!
