Lawrie Sanchez resigns N.Ireland managerial post

Tis' a shame, he is an excellent manager and he did well for NI, hopefully his successor will be as good! Let's also hope he can sort Fulham out, they need it!

As an NI fan its disappointing as he really did get us moving up the league and gain some rock solid results, good luck to him and hope we can get a sucessor who can keep us going on this stairclimber of a campaign.

Some corking headlines could be had here. He taking Fulham on full time?

Dirty Sanchez takes full-time cottaging job.

Typical press hounded him i'm disappointed that we have lost a very good manager but would have done the same thing given the fulham opportunity as he instantly proved what he was capable in helping them avoid relegation.

Fulham avoided relegation due to the fact that Liverpool fielded a very average side against them allowing Fulham to win.

It was obvious he was leaving and the offer of triple pay made it a bonus. I like the way he waited till Fulham avoided relegation before leaving NI as his main objective was to manage in the Premiership and who would want to leave the NI job, to take the post at Fulham and end up relegated? Not him anyway.

Anyhow, I hope he does well for Fulham and NI get a damn good replacement.

shame for NI as this is their best chance for a long time to qualify for a major finals. and they may not get another chance for a while...

Totally gutted here tbh :(

Can't say I'm surprised tho.

I just hope the IFA get a decent replacement, instead of going for a home-boy that hasn't a decent managerial record.

I doubt we could afford him, even on a part-time basis.

Plus I can't see Villa letting him do it part-time.

We'll end up with Jim Magilton or somebody.

He's got some great results as N. Irelans manager in the last year they've beaten Sweeden and Spain. They've performed well in big games but still find it tough to beat smaller teams - Iceland.
