Does anyone know if your heating breaks down when renting, does your landlord have to provide either portable heaters or some other alternative (maybe hotel room)? Our boiler went yesterday & not going to be fixed till tomorrow, we have 2 young children & its blooming freezing

I'd just chuck on a few extra layers and put up with it. Be happy it's getting fixed tomorrow! I'm pretty sure there isn't anything that says the landlord must get you a hotel room - have you got your contract for the tenancy?

Just put up with it till tomorrow. The landlord is fulfilling his obligation by getting it repaired - and in good time. He doesn't have to provide extra heaters or get you a hotel room with this kind of turnaround.

Read your AST, there should be a statement about maintaince of the property.

Like ^ said, I'd just put up with it for a day - it isn't always possible to get engineers out the same day so it sounds like your landlord is doing everything he can.

The Landlord is fulfilling their contract in super quick time. Be thankful and give them a small present to say thank you for their quick work.

In the mean time, don't go around your house in a t-shirt.

Sounds like hes doing you a fave by fixing this so quickly. How much do you pay him p/m? Out of interest. Im sure his margins are small enough, hes not going to offer to put you up in a hotel mate!!!
Put a jumper on :).
