Howdy.

Anyone know much about this, my appartment building is close to a new building site. There are two large cranes operating on it, at night the whole site is empty but lit up like a christmas tree. There are at least 3 large floodlights on each crane and more of them around the site.

They are angled outwards, and light everything around the site as well - including my bedroom. I have just fired off a couple of emails to the building company who are working on it (after walking to the site earlier expecting there to be people working on it still!) - just wondering if they have to do anything about it or not?

A light pointing into you house can be dealt with by the local council. Just give them a call in the morning.

apart from looking rubbish, not exactly practical when the whole wall is glass

Months out of years is not much really. I don't really understand, do you expect to be able to sleep with your curtains open? When i want it dark i close the curtains.

i have blinds already, which are fine when the lights werent left on. curtains would be expensive to install and i don't want them. The building site is quite extensive, has been there for 6 months already and has just reached 1st floor level.

The area of law you are looking for is the tort of nuisance. I'm sure somebody with a tort book could be of much greater assistance, sadly I am lacking my own at this moment.
