*** League of Legends ***

I've spent £80 since starting this about a month ago now... Kind of regret it the way things have been going. Too addicted though to do anything, was thinking about giving HoN a go -.-

Crikey, have you bought every char and skin in the game?

It's easy to spend WAY more on this then with a standard £30 game. That's why it makes me want to murder people when they go "LOL TEH SERVERS ARE *** BECOZ ITS FREE TO PLAY NEWB"

I wonder how much they are making though. Because although there are some people who spend a little money, and some people who spend more than what a retail game would cost there are also a large majority of players who just play for free. I do wish they would spend less money on running tournaments and paying for teams to go to dreamhack and more money on server infrasture. If they want to have tournaments to gain publicity they should try and get some sponsors to cover the costs.

Well they're making enough to give away $100,000. That would easily sort the server problems. EU just gets shafted. They blamed GOA for everything but RIOT have been no better at all.

They sold the *Chinese* rights, not the game just the rights for that country, for more then the net worth of THQ, one of the biggest AAA publishers in the West.

They are making a ****ing ****ton of money.

I'm not sure the vast amount is correct - certainly you seldom see no skins in game which can only be purchased.

I agree, I am not going mad like some people as I know you can easily get champs, runes and everything you need to play (just not skins, but they're not 'needed' to play so my point stands) but even I popped down £30 to make sure I got a decent ratio on £ to RP and support them since it's free to play. I paid less for the limited edition of Shogun Total War 2 at launch :/ And when you think about it the game was charged for initially and then went free so most of the production costs got paid for quite early I imagine. Still I love the game and the £30 was going in halfs with my brother so only £15 a piece and it's been a great game.

I introduced my friend to it though and he spends like nothing. Whenever a champ comes out and he doesn't have enough IP he'll buy RP, for 8/10 of the characters he likes he buys a skin and he likes a lot of characters.

Well so far I havn't paid a penny for the game, and I'm level 21, with Rammus, Tryndamere and xin unlocked, no skins, and 350 RP (free as compensation for that weak of instability a while back). I would pay money if I thought there was something realy worthwhile but to be honest there isn't, and I think the better looking skins are too expensive. If I do want a great skin I'll just download it and use it myself client side for free, doesn't change anything if others can't see it.

As for the game initialy costing money before it became free, I think that is nothing compared to how much money they make now that the game has grown in insane rates after becoming free and gaining in popularity.

Regardless of how much money they make I think it's just a case of the game is growing many times faster than the devs expected and they can't keep up with the growing need for extra capacity, in a month or two I would expect it to be much better and hopefully reduced/no queues.

Up to 140k viewers now :O

The viewer is described as the "Tourney Viewer" so I don't know if it will make it in as a full spectator mode or not

why do I have to play with people who refuse to speak English can't they have their own server region because they refuse to work with a team and 90% of the time they suck (French,Russian etc)
