Learning Piano - tips?

You press the big white things, and sometimes, the smaller black things.

No seriously - when you're beginning you'll be speaking out loud as you play. It's not often said but really shout out what you want to say. It's well known in our piano playing community that it shows you're keen. :)

This is good advice, saying the notes you are playing helps lol

Have you got use of a piano for practice, outwith the lesson times?

If not, a weighted midi keyboard is a good alternative for practice at home. M-Audio do a passable one with weighted keys...not bad at all for the price. Also good to have headphones on...should you live with others.

I did a couple of lessons on the piano when I was younger, wasn't really my thing. Then I did drum lessons and the teacher said I had no rhythm so I soon quit lol. Good luck and stick with it.

I'm actually looking for a teacher atm too RL. I've found that teaching myself is useless, especially at 26. I've just been scouting adverts in local post offices and so on, there's quite a few, but obviously no reviews/recommendations..
