How long did it take you to get comfortable with left hand drive coming from right hand drive?

3 months, 12 months?

I guess it becomes 2nd nature at some point?

How do you find the blind spot issue? Big problem, or not?

Can't give me own opinion, but i remember Gibbo stating it only took him a couple of days to a week till he was comfortable.

My 911 is LHD and I don't find it a problem at all. Passengers always say they feel like they are going to hit oncoming cars though...

I didnt even test drive my car before i bought it.

it took me about an hour tops.

Althou i agree with the above its WEIRD being a passenger!

I'd imagine with overtakes you just need to hang back a bit more? Parallel parking might take a bit of getting used to.

I can't see why you would have any trouble in general driving though.

over taking hang back a bit further, parking - in a smart car you can
park straight into a space :)

Never had a problem with the few american cars I had.

But then having been brought up on yanks (dad had a few when I was younger as well) and driving them while I was still learning, it kinds became 2nd nature.

I've never driven an LHD car over here but I've done a fair few miles in Spain and some in Italy before, got used to it after about 10 mins (once I'd stopped trying to change gear with the window winder)

So come on then, what LHD car are you thinking about???

Race car in a dinner jacket.

The only problem I found was car parks. You need to get out to take a ticket from the machine which is a PITA

A girl in work has a cab mustang (gotta love that!) that is LHD, to enter the work carpark you need to swipe a card across a reader, she has a long stick with what looks like a croc clip to hold the card :D

Hi there

The time to actually judge and determine gaps etc. from having the wheel on the wrong side takes about 2 days. I find I use my mirrors more and judge by the curb. What took me forever was trying to change gear with the wrong hand. But after about 1-2 months I got used to it.

Now I can hop in and out of LHD and RHD cars without issue.

Only blind spots are when your behind something big and so makes it hard to overtake. Cars are no harder because you just look across/through them instead.

All I can say is buy the car m8, the people who moan about LHD generally have never owned such a car.

Genius :D- this is the thing that bugs me the most when driving in France.

I drove in Holland for about a year when I lived over there and I used to occaisonally do the same thing grabbing the window winder :D
