Left Handed people in here!

The only drawback Ive encountered as a left hander are that I cant use normal scissors, they just wont cut properly which ever way I try. Also the choice of bass guitars for leftys is pretty crap, wish Id leanred to play right handed!

Its not all bad though, I remember reading that left handed people have an advantage in that people generally expect attacks to be dealt with the right hand, so errrr swings and roundabouts and all that...:p

Look at all the cack handed people!

Leftie checking in, can openers are the most annoying, pens that smudge and righties sitting next to you at the dinner table knocking your elbow Grrrrr

Alright folks, recently Ive had a couple of situations that wound me up about my cackhanded condition..

Ive now got a role at work which involves filling out paperwork in Ring binders. These buggers are a nightmare for writing on as the rings cause an obstruction.

Other situation was filling out Christmas cards. I got a nice card for my Gf, then ruined it by using a quite inky pen which proceeded to smudge from my hand :(

Anyone got any similar things that annoy them in this Right handed world! :D

Arghh! Ring binders are so annoying - lefties should get special documents with the holes stamped in the right side. When I have to sign in my name on the 'late' register at school, the secretary hasn't been able to read it a few times, so now I have to spend about 5s per letter getting them all legible.

Smudging my own writing is the main cause of annoyance for me. Some pens are OK, and others just smudge EVERYWHERE, but I think paper has a big role in this as well - some of the cheap physics department paper is really wafer thin and unabsorbent, and all my pens smudge on that, but my big beefy sketchbook pages don't smudge at all. I have to end up contorting my wrist around over the line of text, which gives me wrist ache (lol) after about half an hour.

I think the ideal writing style for a lefty like me would be top to bottom of page, then left for next column, but on really wide rolls of paper - would give ink time to dry before putting your hand over it.

I do find though that my left-handedness is very task specific - for stuff like bowling and tennis I use my right hand, but for writing I use my left. Sometimes I try writing with my right hand, and tbh it isn't too bad once I get used to it - only about 3/7 speed of normal writing. I aim to be able to write with either hand one day - if only to confuse anyone watching when I throw my pen to the other hand at the end of every line.

Also, writing on tables on a right-handers right is awful - I usually try to get the left end of the desk now though.

I think i was born a right hander. My mum taught me how to write, and she was a lefty. My dad has the best penmanship i've ever seen (english lit and lang teacher) and is a right hander. I can write with both hands but far better with the left, i play table tennis with my right hand, bat with my right if i play cricket, solder, cut stuff, scissors, fap etc.. only thing i do with my left literally is write :D

Cricket is a funny one, I bowl right handed and bat right handed, however i can switch to left handed very easily for batting. makes it quite confusing for bowlers.
my right handed tennis, doing a double hand backhand is good because my left arm is usable also :D

Oh forgot, i work in I.T too but am not knowingly gay :p

Wish i could switch hands in Table tennis, it would be an asset!
