Right guys looking for some advice regarding a possible protest against a private company. I'm not going to go into any details but lets just say i were to find myself outside a large companies offices with a placard how does the law work in situations like this?

Am i at risk of commiting any offences

and before you say it yes i'm an idiot but sometimes you need to do silly things to bring situations to a head

If you believe that taking this action makes you an idiot why are you perpetuating it?

I think it depends where exactly you are. If you're on the pulic highway, if you are on the private companies land, and so on. Check out this page for some further details. But I'm pretty certain you can't block up the highway (footpath), so you need to make sure people can still walk past unimpeded.

because i'm only one person, hundreds of other people are in the same position i am and they are all complaining and moaning that something should be done but no one is brave(read stupid ) enough to stand up and protest about it. long story short its a breach of contract situation.

Indeed. As long as you are orderly then I don't see any obvious offences.

If you were standing on their property, blocking the pavement/road, or being offensive then the police could act.
If you were walking around outside someones office on Bath Street with a placard telling people that this company is bad, then you aren't doing anything wrong.

Make sure what you say is true, as they could potentially do you for defamation but it's unlikely.

What's the company, I like a good protest - I'll come along! Also, do you want to buy a Pug 3008 - good for Taxi'ing! For you, good price! :D

looks good to go then, I did initially consider chaining myself to said companies fence but that might not be a sensible route to go down. Fancy dress and placards ahoy

I'll totally come and give you the horn.

As in, I'll beep my horn in support...

Ahem. I just wanted to make a willy joke to be honest.

Try a lawyer/CAB iinstead of walking around with a sign?

Also this. I'm not clued up on libel laws, but I would be very careful with how you act. And if they are in breach of contract, do some work and get a lawyer involved instead of looking like an idiot. If everyone is in the same situation, can't you split the cost between all of you? Though if you win then the cost should be covered by the defendant anyway?

Agreed

Do you realise you a painting a big target on your back?

Do you realise that, however unlawful, it is likely that you will be looked over for future promotions for being a troublecauser?

Have you followed your company grievance procedure?

He's self employed.

Is this to do with the new radio system that every Hampden cab driver I've had is moaning about? Or is it regarding the Council contracts? I'm intrigued.
