Hey,

I got a call yesterday from a mate who lives up my road - he asked for a favour. Ok, so it's not much - but he asked to borrow £20 until today, possibly tuesday.

Now, I'm a student - and I don't have a lot of cash - infact I took out £20 for myself last night and gave him £20.. leaving myself with nothing in my account.

I sorta want this cash today but his number doesn't work anymore - I guess his phone has been barred.

His reason for borrowing the cash was for his 'heart tablets' he had to buy today... but it made me wonder - how is he gnna get the cash this evening if he didn't have it before?

I haven't known him for ages, but he lives too close to not pay it back, but I have a feeling it's going to be more than a day or two.

Whats your experiences with lending cash to mates?

Yeah I can normally trust close mates, especially housemates. I'm too trusting though, I guess we'll see if he gives it back or not. I actually thought I had more cash in my account than I did - so even thought twice at the cashpoint.. but I thought - if I'm getting it back Monday or Tuesday it's no problem.

It's normally me borrowing cash - I give it back the next day, or if it's to help me out for the last week before pay day - they know they'll get it that day and no later.

**** sakes!!!!

I just text a work mate who knows him fairly well. Asked him why his number aint working. Apparently he hasnt been able to pay his bills.

He's been borrowing money off friends quite a lot lately too. Blaming it on needing to get his meds for his 'heart problem' - which I just found out is all a lie.

He's been signed off work, now he's got £20 of my cash. ******* joke.

If I don't get it back tomorrow I'll be going up to his house to have a chat.

Well I'm just about to go and see him and ask for the cash.

Apparently the heart problem is all made up and it was actually a caffeine overdose - which he's blagging to get time off work. He overdosed cus he's got a new gf who has a kid and he's trying to spend time with them.

Also his heart tablets are fake, I've been told that he's just telling people that and spending the money on his GF and kid.

So I'm gonna ask him:

"Did you get your tablets ok?"
"My nan takes heart tablets, called Didanosine or something?"
"What are you taking? Or are they the same?"

BTW, Didanosine is for HIV treatment. :D ;)

I'm unsure what to say if he says "Yes" - I'll say "Sorry to hear you have HIV"... I may not get my £20 back but I'll get a laugh out of him.

if you dont get a call by this evening - give him a call. say you really need it and it aint a joke.

I went to see him, apparently he's going to borrow £20 off someone tonight to pay me back.

I said to him "I have no cash mate and I need this £20" - he was pretty nervous and struggled to get his words out.

Problem is, I can't get hold of him on the phone cus his phone has been barred - not paid his bills. Only way I can remind him is by going to his house to see him.

I'll leave it tomorrow, hopefully he brings it to my house. Otherwise I'll go and see him again Thursday.
