lens descisions....

Sounds familiar!!!

I took the decision to sell a load of crap i dont use (kit lens, some audio bits etc).

I have also have a couple of friends who have pleaded with me to be the main photographer at their weddings this year. I am doing pre wedding and reception at one, and the entire event at a wedding in poland. I said to both i will need to hire a 'quick' lens at their expense. Hopefully i wont need to hire now (but maybe i should think about a 580 II flash, my yongnuos whilst they have never let me down do worry me!). The hire money can go towards this lens.

I have also been asked by a pro wedding photographer to do some secondary work, so this should give some pocket money.

That's my plan for the next week or so; get all my crap on MM and hopefully get quite a few pennies to put toward the next lens (still undecided on Tamron or Sigma 30/1.4 - but probably the former). I think I'll be getting a bonus from work in April/May so I was thinking of getting a 75-300IS with that.
 
Enjoy it! I have this lens and it's a brilliant step up from the kit lens.
Although i'm tempted to try the prime route, and get the Sigma 30mm 1.4, but i'm thinking that i'd miss the wider angles..
 
well, it arrived and has so far lived up to expectations. Super sharp (even at f2.8 its sharp... but gets tack sharp from f4).

The AF is loud, but nothing too bad. Its certainly not slow, but i understand how people can think so given the noise.

Colours + contrast seem excellent and the bokeh is lovely.

£250 brand new.... seems like a lot of lens for the money
