Lens recommendation please

Hey

I have a Canon 10D. I currently have a 28-135 IS lens and a 75-300 IS lens.

Want I would like to get is a good lens for landscape photography. I would really like IS if possible, but the main feature is that it should be sharp. I don't want to spend too much money, so probably a Sigma lens would be the best choice.

Any suggestions?

Sigma 10-20

wiiiiiiide for lanscapes, nice and sharp, good price. do it

You shouldnt really need IS for landscapes. You should use properly long exposures (e.g. 15 or 30 seconds) with a low aperture. A tripod is almost essential - it also helps you set up your shot better.

Good lenses are the Sigma 10-20, but also check out the Tokina 12-24. 12mm should be plenty wide enough, and the Tokina is highly rated whenever Ive seen it tested.

Canon 17-40L if you don't want too wide.

Edit: ignore me, just noticed you don't want to spend too much, although it's a lens which will last a lifetime.

Thanks for the suggestions. How does the Canon 10-22 compare to the Sigma 10-20 and the Tokina 12-24?

Not sure if this is wide enough, but I can highly recommend the Tamron SP AF 17-35mm F/2.8-4 LD

The Canon 10-22 is EFS fit, which isnt suitable for your 10D as you probably know, its a great lens though.

I would like to see some samples too as I need a nice portrait lens around this focal length. As for a landscape lens, Sigma 10-20;

Its uber wide

Do you notice and barrel distortion or light falloff with the Sigma lens?

It does have a small bit of distortion

Yes, yes I was and I've said it about 3 times now but I'll have a play with the ones I have and post some up
