Howdy :)

I've narrowed down my upgrade body (7D) but im struggling with the glass...
I've narrowed it down to 2,
Should I go the whole hog and get the 70-200mm f/2,8 IS USM?
or save some cash and go with the 70-200mm f/4.0 USM?
To be used for on track, drift photography, I will have 1 or 2 other lens for general shots so this is purely for the track

Is the f/4.0 worth going for? or should i really go for the other?

cheers

I would go 70-200 f/4 if its purely a panning lens. I use the 70-200IS MK2 and found that I never needed 2.8 when panning and IS kept trying to counter my panning motion even in mode 2 so it stays off when track side.

This is a different subject in my eyes, I'm asking about the difference between 2 lenses lol
The reason I ask is I have also heard the IS can interfere with panning, though its a better lens, is it worth ruling out the 70-200mm IS USM as I will be using purely for panning...

Cheers all

I always get the best I can so I dont need to upgrade later which usually cost more in the process, the IS can be turned off after all. It all depends on your budget
