LG L1718S or HANNS-G AG172D?

I would go with the LG monitor. LG panels are meant to be some of the best around in terms of picture quality, plus it's a more recognised brand.

ta ordered the LG, minus £10 google voucher. I've owned/seen two LG LCD TV's and seem good quality. I think LG outsource cathodes and TFT's to other supplies (Loewe and Philips)

LG arrived, but it has silver surround :(
Even backlight though (much better than the Philips) and zero dead pixels. Not too sure about sending it back, as I can't see a replacement 17" all black quality screen.

I'd suggest calling up the supplier and asking, you certainly have a case if the site specified what you were ordering as black and it arrived as silver.

Even if they won't budge, if you're really bothered you're still covered by the distance selling act, and as such have 7 days to return it (provided you haven't torn the box up and stuff ;P)

Dunno if it's me but there is haloing around text, I've set native, doing it in Windows and Ubuntu. ATI X300 videocard. Do you think problem with analogue video? it's a bit like ramped up sharpness on a CRT TV.

Phoned them up and ok to take a refund, what what else can I buy? They have 19" Widescreen "unbranded" but no idea of the quality of the screen.
