Hello
I need a monitor, I have an old-ish pc so don't need a super duper 120Hz thing. I think this new 27" LG could be a winner - IPS - only got hdmi and vga - but thats fine with me - any alternatives?
If I were to get a new pc / gpx card - could I use the hdmi as an input?
Thanks

Hi there,

Here is a link to this LG.

It does seem to be a new IPS panel it is using - as I don't rememberer any recent 27in monitors on the market using 1080p IPS panels (I think LG only released some new ones of this type fairly recently).

I am certainly looking forward to some reviews of it as it has the potential to be a great option for people who want a large 1080p monitor and IPS quality. However, at this stage it hasn't been released so hasn't been reviewed by the proper, in-depth, independent monitor reviewers - so I couldn't recommend buying it yet.

As for video inputs - yes any modern graphics card should have a HDMI (or mini-HDMI) output - so using the HDMI port will be fine. Also, you could use a DVI to HDMI adapter (if you have an older video card), this will offer exactly the same video qulaity, but it doesn't carry the sound signal.

Ordered one, should get it tomorrow - will upload a review/pics once it gets here.......£250 all in - probably not the cheapest price - but at least I have it 'now'
