Hi all

I've set aside £3k to upgrade our LG 42PQ6000, which is an ancient 720p plasma with anti-glare coating that's gone all orange peel on me.

I'm struggling to decide between the two options in the title, i.e. the TV without 3D but with an excellent sound bar, vs. the 3D TV with a built in soundbar.

I like my SQ but I also fancy dabbling in home 3D. What would you do?

3D is crap, I have had 3 or 4 3D tv's now and I've used it a grand total of 2 times and both were to test it out.

Also built in sound bars won't even be half as good as an external yamaha system. so option 1 is the far better option.

Those two screens are identical in terms of picture. The only difference is a built in sound bar and 3D capability with the E6.

Personally, I went for the B6 as I had 3D on my old TV and never used it. Sound bars also don't appeal to me at all because well, they are crap when compared to 5.1.

Unless you're desperate to try 3D, get the B6 and a surround sound setup.

Thanks. I've heard the 3D is excellent on the E6, and I really enjoy 3D at the cinema. Maybe I should go and try out the 3D in John Lewis (if they offer it).

If 3d is important to you then get the e6, if not then get the b6 (or c6 if you don't mind the curved model).

The e6 is quite a lot more for the 3d though.

I went the b6 route having no real interest in 3d myself.

I use 3D whenever I get the chance on my 50" LG Plasma. If the movie came out in 3D in the cinema then I'll get the 3D version for home. So I'd always get a 3D TV when replacing my current one.
