I’m hoping someone could help me.
So I have set up a new LG SN9YG sound bar along with my new LG C1, which have connected via eARC. I have turned on eARC in the tv menus & have the bar set to Sound AI Pro mode and everything seems to be working amazingly especially Dolby Atmos through the likes of Netflix.. However I have one query regarding Dolby 5.1 transmission. And another about other sound settings below
So for example Amazon Prime has lots of content in HDR & 5.1 sound, however if I play this the sound only comes out of the front left & right speaker on the bar and does not utilise the other speakers to offer 5.1 surround effect which I thought would happen? (Digital Sound Output is set to AUTO) Especially as using the AI feature? I can manually make it happen by putting the bar in movie mode, but yeah my understanding was shows broadcast in 5.1 would also utilities the whole bar? Have I miss understood something or am I doing something wrong? Is it the app? Or is it linked with below?
Also I don’t know whether any of the following has any link to the above, but:
1) HDMI Input Audio Format - the only available port is ‘hdmi 1’ which is my virgin cable box -> options: Bitstream or PCM (I’m presuming my soundbar doesn't show up as this is not a sound input, so probably has no bearing on the above?)
2) Digital sound Output - should I be using PCM - Auto (which is what it is currently on) - Pass Through?
