LG Velvet

I suppose, if you make the notch big enough, it does look more like a massive bezel.

Yeah google made the pixel 4 with a really large top bezel instead of pushing the screen into the corners the way apple did. But then I think google put more sensors in their top bezel.

Project mainline on phones running factory Android 10+ means system level updates are handled by the Play Store so as far as this goes, shouldn't be a problem. I believe LG are part of the OEM group that have the dynamic partition to support this.

It's the front end updates like UX and features that are where LG isn't going to update as often like say Samsung does if history holds true.

Agreed. Looks great to me but seems a bit unwieldy to manage in one hand, and not a fan of the curved display.

This has always been LG's problem. They have some great and innovative ideas but execution always lets them down somewhere. Still, I'll wait for the reviews in few days from now.

I do think it's a nice looking phone but I still suspect that LG will price it far too high. It needs to be less than the OnePlus 8 or it will flop.

It's official!

I'm a little bit disappointed to be honest considering it's priced between OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro (at least in Korea). They've gone for style over substance but I do like the rear style, 3.5 mm jack, and active pen support. That's all the positives I can find. They seem to be targetting a certain crowd. I'll pass. I'd rather get a Note 9 that, unbelievably, is smaller.

I did read that the price is quite high for this. Especially for a phone running an SD765. LG doing an LG and pricing themselves out of the market.
