I ordered a thermalright 1366 bolt thru kit for an upcoming i7 build. I intend to use my existing TRUE black. But upon receiving the kit it looks different from the s775 style, had a look on the thermalright website and the one i got is listed for use with the ifx 14 cooler. Can i still use this with the TRUE?

Is it this one?

Or this one?

I have the last one for my X58 board, and it works fine, and looking at the one in the first pic, it should also work fine as well.

There is only one problem with the one that I have, the heatsink can be twisted when it is bolted down, though you can use a washer between the scissor bracket and heatsink to put more pressure onto the heatsink to prevent it from being twisted.

::edit::

Mate, I just found out, that the bracket in the first pic, is the new style LGA1366 mounting bracket that comes bundled with the TRUe Rev.C, so it will be perfectly fine, I'd say that it looks like it should be even better than the one I have.

And the bracket also comes with the TRUE RT 1366 Rev.B as well.

Thanks mate, had a closer look and done a dry mount (no cpu yet) definitely an improvement over the s775 x bracket style clamp. Should make removing the heatsink for cleaning a lot easier as you only have 2 spring loaded screws to remove, while the whole backplate stays on the board.:cool::)
