Lian Li O11 EVO

I don't know how long PCIe Gen 4 riser cables can be but surely you should be able to route it behind the mobo tray and take it out from the left hand side of the mobo?

Always wasn't sure how they were going to do this and it seems they've tried to avoid it in all marketing by being choosy with their angles. I wanted a white case with black components, so it seems I'm forced to get the black version of the upright mount to ensure the riser itself is black and hopefully easier to hide...

yeah its put me off now putting the gpu upright will see others setups and decide :) . now where do we place the order for the case ?

OK I ordered the black o11 evo and the upright riser since its Gen 4 - still debating that...

Didnt get the white combo due to the white riser cable going across the black mobo would be obvious. Silly I know...

ETA 18th Jan if thats even it :( didnt order the upright riser will decide later after seeing others build with it and testing :) now to watch all these reviews to start popping up while I wait

I was hoping that I could fit a 360 radiator at the top and on the mesh front and with a upright gpu but that doesn't look possible :(

Yeah I kinda forced myself to buy it on the basis I might as well get the original case otherwise. At worse OcUK can enjoy the free interest :p

Like this? Ahhh front rad too - hmmm, seems doable but very tight...

Yeah I have a sapphire toxic 6900xt that has a 360 aio so was wanting to put it at front with the mesh, with my cpu aio at the top.

Radiator clearances incase anyone was interested:

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Top: 84mm to mobo
Side (front position): 82mm to bottom rad
Side (front position): 70mm to gpu (if GPU is long)
Side (back position): 120mm to bottom rad
Side (back position): 110mm to gpu (if GPU is long)
Bottom isnt very clear - but as big as you want upto 125mm

That pcie cable going right infront of the motherboard just looks bad. I just watched the video from guru and in proper lighting it just doesn't look like it would look good. Would rather it went behind the board like he suggested, like how i thought lian li would have done it tbh.

lian li didn't do behind the board because the cable would be too long, pcie4 cable can't be too long or signal noise will give problems. I do agree though, they should have just used pcie3 instead of 4 and routed through the back. It will get worse over time, pcie5 riser cables probably have to be like 5cm or something

Interesting. Those XE radiators may fit with a distro plate on the front.

I have 3080fe and in the promo shot it looked really good upright now I see why they didn't show the riser cable it's totally put me off attempting upright

I'm sure something will come out at some point to make it look cleaner

I saw video of someone using longer cable connected to the bottom PCIe slot and going behind the board and seemed to be working

Yeah I saw the same video, unfortunately all the z690 DDR4 mobo have like a PCIe Gen 3 down there - mine has a 16x slot at 4x speed. Also supposedly those extra long extensions are of iffy quality which might not matter now but will do once we have GPUs that require PCIe 4 bandwidth...

I'm pretty annoyed by the whole thing (to the point I feel duped by Lian Li) and now agree that the upright metal piece should have been thrown in with the Evo and at some point you could select the PCIe extension you wanted. I am considering daisy chaining two so the first goes behind the mobo entirely and then the second connects to it on the mobos left side and into the top PCIe slot - no idea the lengths needed and if that maintains PCIe 4 compliance.

I do find it surprising that some youtubers think you have to have the mesh front with the upright GPU - the less said about Bitwit's review the better...
