Lian-Li PC V1100 + Versus Antec P180?

Right, im soon to be in the market for a new case(After payday

) Ive managed to narrow it down to two cases;

Lian-Li PC V1100 PLUS Black Aluminium Midi-Tower

Or

Antec P180 SPCR Advanced Super Midi Tower Case

For build quality/Case layout I prefer the Lian-Li, but for noise control/looks I prefer the P180. I need some help with my decision. And yes Yewen I know I should get the Lian-Li PC V1000 PLUS Silver, but thats not an option im giving you. So come on guys, help me decide please.

I would go for the Lian Li,

It has that wow factor and everytime you look at it you will get happy.

The Antec is nice, but to me it is more of a silence and cooling freak case.

You have pointed out the pro's of the v1100+.

Noise control, the case only makes a small difference, the graphics card cooler, northbridge cooler make a huge difference. The case only really comes in when you are getting rid of the last tiny whurr.

The v1100+ has slightly restricted airflow over the hard drives due to the limited front intake, but unless you plan on running 4x raptors in a silent PC, this will not be a issue.

Looks are a important thing in a case, and if you really do prefer the p180, which in person I think is rather dissapointing, then its the case you need to go for.

The layout only comes in when building, and if you spend most of your time looking at the case, then it is what you need to spend your money on.

Still think you should just buy a v1000+ or even better a S80, which you may actually like.

The hardrive cooling will be fairly important as I will be running 4x250gb + 1x36gb raptor. As for the looks, I prefer the P180, as its close to my ideal case, which would simply be a completely smooth black block. The v1100+ isn't bad, except I dont like the ridged front. I like the p180, although it would be even nicer if it didn't have the exhaust shroud on top or the Usb ports etc visible at the front. The S80 is another option I hadn't considered, although im not sure about the white stripe down the front. Also the layout isn't how I like it(I really like the PSU at the bottom). As you said, the layout is only really important when building, but me being a perfectionist, I really want the case to be perfect, both inside and out.

Alright, then Im leading you towards the P180. Its a better case for your situation.

But, Would you consider the V1000+?

The p180 seems to be the one you want to buy deep down, any case bar it you would not like and wish you had got the p180, all this thread has done is made you realise thats the one you want

Im sure the V1000+ is a great case, but personally I don't like the curved edges or the mesh like front.

@ Yewen.. lol, yeah your probably right. But I think thats all I needed. I hate it when im buying stuff like this, and I narrow it down to a few options.. I always end up so indecisive. Right.. P180 it is! Thanks guys

Let us know how you get on, doubt you will be making the wrong decision, its a good case, but not made by Lian Li
