1st mod.

This log is here so, hopefully, I'll receive the encouragement to keep on with this, desptite being really, really crap at DIY stuff.

Aims of project:

To modify a lian-li v1000 (version 1) to improve cable management, airflow and PSU compatibility.

Case was aquired for £50 - its really good condition and matches my existing silver lian-li v1000 (except that its black and a version 1).

Tools proposed:

120mm holesaw, 40mm holesaw (already own both)
2mm adhesive 50mm wide neoprene sheeting
dremmel and power drill (already own both)

Method:

see proposals attached:

aim is to use the 120mm holesaw for the Blowhole and CPU Heatsink bracket hole. Blowhole will be covered with a MNPCTech billet 120mm grill (arrow on image points to blowhole).

Cable management holes will be covered both sides with self adhesive neoprene (suitably trimmed) and then an 'x' cut in the neoprene to form a gasket for the cables.

Bottom bulkheads will be drilled out and removed.

Cables will be sleeved as far as practicable.

If anyone has any further ideas, please let me know. I know this isn't very ambitous, but its the first time ive done something like this - it might take a while though :)
