I don't know if the following will change your life but a few that immediately spring to mind as being well worth the watch are: Casablanca, Twelve Angry Men, Gran Torino, Shawshank Redemption, Gran Torino.
Im in the mood for watching a film that makes an "impact". Do any of you have some valid suggestions for a few outstanding films that are simply a must see for everyone?
What kind of impact? Romance, fantasy, horror, arthouse and action all have different 'impacts'.

I know this might sound cheesy, but I think it's good role model for kids in how to live life as a good person, especially kids growing up, and find that is Superman the movie 1978.

This is my choice for the finest film ever made. It's a wonderful story of the human condition, of hope and friendship, of the battle against adversity.

Schindlers List is about the most impacting film I've seen.
The Pianist is my favourite film. I love it, had it on VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray, heh.
