life for the Asus P5WDH Deluxe

I never thought I'd say this but I'm a fool, I've gonna and bought a Q6600 & never dug deep into what my mainboard could take cpu wise & I really though the Asus P5WDH was finished.

I'm totally gutted now since I found this so any owners maybe happy its just a cpu upgrade to the new E & Q range cpu's

Yep the P5W WS64Pro board is the same, it will work with the later processors just that if bougt when new as predated then it wouldn't work with the Core Processors as needed a BIOS update.

Fortunately for me I bought my board and the BIOS version booted my Q6600 but didn't ID properly. After a BIOS flash, thankfully I could boot into the Asus EZFlash OK, it ID properly.

The 975x may be seen as out of date but it still works well for me.

badaxe2 best £170 spent on any piece of kit.

ultra stable

gets my e6600 to 3.5 if needed

will take a quad

i found it soooo hard to justify paying so much for a mobo but im glad i did
