When I had ADSL installed 16months ago, the line was at 59.5dB, it now sits at 63dB.... :(

Whats the score? can I do anything to improve this?

As I understand it, a 3.5dB increase is MASSIVE as it's a logarithmic scale isn't it?

No there's deffo no hope of getting 1mb ADSL :(

make sure your adsl router is attached directly to the BT master socket, extensions leads can cause loop loss, other than that it may just be a case of a long line or the phone line being old and not in to good shape as it used to be. mite be worth getting a BT engineer out to check the phone line as my phoneline was underground and the pipe was filled with water causing a few issues with the SNR you could have a similer problem

Yeah, it's been connected to an ADSL faceplate on the master socket since day one, so nothing within the house has changed.

It's particularly frustrating because according to the new FAQ, it says 1mb ADSL can be had on a line with less than 63dB loss.

At least with "MaxDSL" the decision will be made based on your SNR, though it wouldn't be too surprising if it's gone down as well.
