Lining up for a XBOX360? A very funny thing happend...

I would like to share something with everyone here, about someone who was camping outside the Game store (london) waiting to be the first one to get a XBOX 360.

During the time when the XBOX 360 was about to be released, my friends - friend had decided to be the first one to play on the newly released XBOX 360...so he decided to gather some of his friends (not my friend who told me about this) and camped outside of the Game store in london. On that night temperatures were around freezing and everyone there by 6am was coughing or had runny noses. Around 6am my friends friend decided to give my friend a phone call, that in a short time he will get a XBOX360. Notibly peed off that his mate was going to be the first to get the 360, he decided to go out and purchase the console. He went to the same store as his friend and noticed that his friend was standing at the end of the queue. So my friend joined up with him.. and at that time the store opened and the queue was moving into the store. Funnily enough, there was only 20 people waiting outside the store. The Store had received 120 XBOX 360's that day to sell (Incl. reserved stock). So my friend went in the store with his friend and purchased a 360. He asked his friend and his mates why they stayed outside all night for one of these? All of them sniffing up snot and coughing had thought the store was in limited stock

Just goes to show...patience is a virtue

My friend still laughs at his mate for being so silly waiting outside a store in the freezing cold for one of these consoles

I wonder how many people will line up for the PS3

i queued for 7 hours outside a Virgin store in Colchester

was 2nd in the queue, and they only had 2 premiums that were not on pre-order. So paid off, i had a notebook and pen also to do some work.

Hehe i didnt bother queing or anything like that, i just waited a few weeks and waited...came here and saw that someone said Argos have them in stock. Suffice to say i placed my order within 5 mins of that person on here saying it, 10 mins later it was sold out according to Argos.

Paid off for me i guess, plus i wasnt silly enough to que outside for hrs to get my hands on one

edit: nope its disapeared. Short story: wait outside asda with 30 others from 6.30am, shop opens at 8, queue 30 people legging it to the entertainment section only for people who were there since 5 to miss out because they were slow. i'm happy to say i was the first to the desk

I pre-ordered a premium, cancelled it as I didn't think it was worth it then managed to get a sneaky pre-order in with Gameplay not long before launch. I took the day off work and sat at home incomfort waiting for my delivery

I purchased my XBOX only a few weeks ago. I got a decent deal with it too which made it worth while. I will sell it once PS3 is out....although I wont be queueing outside the store waiting for one.
