Hey all,

I recently had to reinstall windows and now have to reinstall my linksys router (WRT54G v2.2) and Notebook adapter card (WRT54G v1.2).

I have the disk for the router - no problems there (i think) but couldn't find the disk for the card ... Soooo i went to the linksys site, got the right driver (i think) installed it blar, but when i installed the Wireless-G notebook adapter utility from the thing i downloaded, half way through it said " " is not a valid digit" or something. It still said installation successful but when i open Wireless-G notebook adapter utility it says it can't connect to my router and that the wireless card isn't installed. I'm just like  now because i've tried unpluging, resetting, rebooting.. etc etc and i'm about to take a very large hammer to my router.

Please someone help!!

Thanks

M

But the wireless doesn't work?
Tried knocking the router back to defaults and starting again?

Yes i reinstalled it and re-did all the settings. The router works with a wire.

personally i'd say ditch the CDs and utilities. Do it the old fasioned way. uninstall youre wireless adapter, put the driver back on and leave it at that. Then fire it up and connect to the default linksys SSID. once that works, add encryption and stuff and check it works at each stage. Then and only then start installing software the software crap.
