Listening to music whilst revising...

Personally I always found it easier to revise with music on, but it does depend on having the right music. It needs to be something you like but not something you love enough to get distracted by.

Without it I tended to get distracted by various other things going on around more.

I dont get how some people can concentrate more at work with headphones in and get more done. I suppose its to get rid of distraction noises rather than actually enjoying the music

I have to have silence or just background 'noise'. The best place to sit in my old library was actually the entrance room, because the quiet background din of indecipherable voices and movement clouded out all other distractions.

One of the things in life that makes me furious are people in libraries who have their music at a volume that other people can hear. It's incredibly inconsiderate and massively distracting. It's far worse than people briefly talking.

Totally agree - that's a massive pet hate of mine, not only in libraries but public transport as well.
