Apparently it could have come from a circus that was travelling recently. I thought that sort of thing (big cats in travelling circuses) was long gone.

The circus went quite a few weeks ago so if it had come from there, I'd have thought it would have been spotted quite a while ago, besides which I don't think it had any big cats anyway.

It does look a bit dodgy. It's a thin lion.

Maybe there will be a few more..of cats.

Asked whether the animal would be shot if it was found, spokeswoman Donna Veasey told the BBC officers had to consider the safety of the public at all times.

She also said one reported sighting had turned out to be a cat.
