Either way you can guarantee it won't be legally.

I expect if we had enough tv shows about travelers showing in them a good light then you could get people to live near them without much of a problem.

Pikey is a reference to turn pike, as in traveller isn't it ?

It's obviously been interpreted as offensive to someone down the line but how it has is beyond me.

It was originally a negative name from proper gypsy's for the disgusting type we all know and love.

But pikey is a reference to turn pike as in road as in traveller ? I know being offended is a profession these days but I can't see how it is a negative term - certainly from its origins.

I would't. A camp has moved in about 3 miles from our village and we've had 7 break ins since.

Not in a million years. I live nowhere where I run the risk of being 'culturally enriched'.

If what you say about being a bit pikey yourself is true, then knock yourself out, but if an estate agent had suggested it to me as a possible purchase, and I drove slowly down the street, to check kerb appeal, then noticed the Traveller site, I would have gradually increased pressure on the gas pedal, and disappeared into the wild blue yonder.

    Hell no.

I’m as liberal and lefty as they come, and think the bad version of “travellers” are some of the worst people in society, intentionally not participating it it and abusing it from the outside whilst playing the victim.

How more people don’t set their caravans on fire I do not know when they rock up illegally.

Aside from the actions of them themselves undoing any good work the TV might do?

Could you have a look at the crime date for the area? might give you a clue as to how they behave. having said that I don't like pikeys.
