Do they stop you spending after a certain amount when online? Ive just spent £310 on OcUK and £170 on another store, then when i went to order my final item off store number 3 its denied the payment request saying i could have hit my credit limit, so do Lloyds stop you from spending over a certain amount in a day?

Cheers

Probably just a security measure. You'll probably get a phone call to confirm these are all legit sometime soon.

dont think so

they will stop you spending more than you have in your account though or your agreed overdraft limit..

or if they think there is fraud being commited with your account they will lock it to stop any further money being taken (and they will normally call you to check that it is you spending the money)

Plenty money in the account and im not in an overdraft, so they have probably flagged it , but i have had a lot of transactions over the last few days.

£45 - MOT
£395 - MOT Work
£20 - MOT Retest
£310 - OcUK
£170 - Another store

Quite a lot really since Saturday so i wouldnt be surprised if its been flagged.

Whenever I try and spend over 300 with HSBC they auto-block it and I have to call up to authorize the request for funds and then do the transaction again.

They'll delay authorising your purchase until they get you on the phone to confirm you made the purchases, but I've never had them outright decline.

Jokester

Can't really do anything else with an online transaction, your thinking of a referral but a website isn't much good at phoning their referral center :)

i've had it before when i didnt spend anything on a credit card for months as i was saving it for when i went the motorbike show...

i shopped around for the best prices etc and then went to pick them all up...

cue me spending £1500 in about 90 minutes. then i got a phone call after the last transaction asking me if i had my card still as my card activity was suspicious.

i thought it was quite good actually... maybe would have been really annoying if i had missed out on something because of it but at the end of the day it proves they do look out for it. :)

When i was away at easter HSBC stopped my credit card which was annoying because it was flagged up being abroad. But never known anything like this when spending in the country, though i can almost guarantee it will be fraud prevention.
