Recently got these for £49, really impressed with them but not got a soundcard at the moment. Thinking of going with the Asus Xonar DX2 PCIE, would I be able to connect these speakers to it and get the full potential? At the moment they are running through the USB connection.

Yes they will connect. I thought they only had USB connection, but someone who also has the Z-10 said there is a 3.5mm jack to connect to a sound card. The DX2 might be a bit overkill for the speakers. Paying the extra for the D2X might be somewhat pointless if the Z-10's can't deliver the extra audio quality the D2X provides over a cheaper card. Maybe the DX would be a better choice to pair with the Z-10.

Thanks for the advice, the price difference seems to be around £24 - is it worth the extra? £24 doesn't seem like much of a difference, I dont mind paying the little bit extra if it's worth it?

I've listened to Z-10s before, and frankly the inbuilt DAC is ample for them.

You COULD get a soundcard, but why do you want one? The Z-10s won't sound any better.

If you're wanting the souncard for inputs/output connectability etc then fair enough, but seems redundant to get speakers that are designed to replace a souncard, and then combine them WITH a soundcard.
