Logitech Z-2300 vs Acoustic Energy Aego M (+ sound card question).

So last night one of my speakers just fell apart, so i'm left with a 4.1 setup instead of 5.1 and i feel 5.1 is actually too much just for my computer now anyway (i have no wall mounts etc, it's just speakers on shelves around me).
I figured i'd rather have a 2.1 setup, and i've heard good things about both these sets of 2.1 speakers but i need abit of information. Right now, there's £7 difference (Logitech being more expensive, as the Aego M's are in This Week Only). Is that £7 worth it? Which set has most sound control? Do both have a handheld volume changer? Do either of these sets of speakers have any known problems?
Also, i'm using a Creative Live! Soundblaster 24bit sound card (in PCI), is this good enough to get the most out of these speakers? I also try and do abit of guitar recording through a microphone that goes into this sound card but i gave up because of the latency when recording/playback - shall i upgrade my sound card too?
Cheers.

The general concencus on these forums is that the Aego Ms are the best 2.1 PC speakers you can get. I've got a pair myself, and they really do sound brilliant. The Z-2300s are meant to be good as well, but I think they're a bit lacking in terms of mid range. They're louder than the Aegos and have a wired remote, but the Aegos are meant to beat them by a good bit with their sound quality.

As for the sound card, the Soundblaster Live! isn't too bad but you'd certainly get more out of the speakers with a newer card like an X-Fi. I'd definitely go for one if you've got the money. I think they have 1ms latency which should help with your recording, but I'm not sure if that's only the Elite Pro version.

tbh i havnt a clue. It just happened. Its deffo a prob with the sub as when i switch the speakers it stays on the right channel. Its just really distorted. Im just about to get a hi-fi type setup as the poor quality is getting to me now. I took a look inside the sub but couldnt see any problem.

hmm, well nevermind I didn't mind how they sounded its mainly I just wanna hear the AWP's go bang :D rather then music pumping out all day. You get a warrenty surely?
