Logitech Z-5500 sub + other speakers

Hi all,

I have a set of bookshelf speakers (no amp) and was wondering whether I can safely connect these to the logitech sub? They're 6ohm (I'm not 100% sure but I think the logi amp is an 8ohm one). The speakers are full range ones, will I gain anything?

I had a couple of pairs of Sony bookshelf speakers lying around (one pair at 6 ohms, the other at 8) and both worked fine. You don't gain much in the mid-range department due to the crossover frequency set within the subwoofer/amplifier unit, but there were significant gains in the highs.

Try it, it should be fine. Just don't go crazy with the volume or anything.
