Just got a 32" Yusmart (nice TV btw!) and plugged it all in and set it to autotune :)

Came back 5 mins later to find it still tuning - odd I thought

I then watched it continue....

I live in a block of flats with CCTV in all halls...

YES my TV was tuning into every camera somehow

I now have 8 CCTV channels on 1-8 and BBC1 etc on 9-14 - my flat mate thinks its the best thing since sliced bread :D

God knows how it picked them up though

So the video from the CCTV is being broadcast over the shared aerial system? Or are you using your own aerial and picking up the cameras over the air? Either way, pretty neat!

Chances are the CCTV is plumbed into the CATV system, using a modulator (or modulators). It'll be done on purpose, so you can see who's at the door etc.

Im plugged into a wall socket through coax :D

my nana got freeview installed and now spends most of her time watching the one that allows her to watch everyone coming and going on CCTV from the sheltered accomodation block over the way. No-one knows why she knows what's going on more than the people who live in there do. Best of it is, she spent about a week thinking it was some sort of documentary (she is 90!!) :D

Must be all part of the distribution system then so the staff can monitor the cameras from anywhere in the building. I'd guess everyone can tune in if they tried.
