Lollipop lady dies after being hit by school bus

I was reading about lollipop men \ ladys a few years ago and it is a risky buiness to walk onto the road, apprently they often get abuse hurled at them and even when they are stood in the middle of the road some ppl will just drive round them.

Personally I drive slow round schools and get ready to stop if the lollipop man\lady wants to stop the traffic.

Was on the local news last night. Mentioned at the very end that the bus driver may have been going too fast. Maybe she stepped out when he was a fair bit away but failed to stop in time?

The 55-year-old driver of the bus and the pupils from nearby Queen Margaret Academy were unhurt.

Now if only lolipop had managed to throw her lolipop stick at the bus driver like a spear just before she got hit.

They are supposed to be there to help young children cross the road safely.

They should also be setting an example for these children, and as others have said, some do tend to step out and expect all the cars to stop in an instant.

Still, it is quite tragic, if a little ironic.

I've got to be honest, this should serve as a warning to all lollipop "persons", wait for a suitable "safe" gap then walk out into the road.

Dont just, as you already do, fling yourself out as soon as the brat turns up alongside you.
