Police have made safe a explosive device in London.
Officers were called to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked in The Haymarket shortly before 0200 BST.

The immediate area was cordoned off while police examined what they described as a "potentially viable explosive device".

The Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command has launched an investigation and The Haymarket is likely to remain closed for some time.

That could quite easily mean a Shook up bottle of Coke.

That line is only funny when body bags are involved. ;)
I've waited nearly 2 years to be able to use that line in a doubly ironic fashion :p
Still I wonder if this is the beginning of the new wave. After all there are supposed to be 60 suicide bombers heading our way.

Despite seeing footage of this on BBC news (the training camp etc) I can't find hide nor hair of it online from the BBC. How strange.

And the first day of the new cabinet, coincidence it is not, also what a place to have to close off all day.
I will be expecting the introduction of even more ineffective draconian controls on our liberty in the coming weeks from our new illustrious leader.

The sad thing is, as soon as I heard about this incident, government conspracy was the first thing in my thoughts. What a sad state of affairs to be in. :(

And who exactly are Asian News International I wonder? Perhaps the answer to that may explain why the BBC, Times, Daily Mail, Guardian, Independent, etc., etc., etc. haven't bothered to pick up on this story?

The BBC and ITV showed the footage of the training camp on the TV a couple of weeks ago and then it went quiet.

Will the Evening Standard do for you? Or are they part of the same asian network conspiracy of the joooooos too?

Still seems like a load of cobblers to me.

From your first link - "The report was filmed by a Pakistani TV journalist"
From the Evening Standard link - "The footage, filmed openly by an American TV crew"

The Evening Standard link seems to make no mention of the (Indian) ANI report that "Sixty suicide bombers are reportedly going to Britain", just "So let me say something about why we are going along with a suicide attack in Britain, before the film cuts out."

I suspect that the news organisations aren't that gullible. The Telegraph rather gives the game away with the comment that the "Taliban propaganda film" "purported to show large teams of foreign nationals".

Its just because people don't want to accept that there's thousands of people out there who want to kill us. Its a much more comforting thought that its a government conspiracy, as we can deal with it more easily i.e. vote the govt out, rather than have to confront these scum by sending our boys to go fight them.

Does anyone else think this was a dud bomb? Sounds to me like the driver of the vehicle expected it to go off when he drove it into a bin.

I wonder if we have considered the possibility it was a drunk guy driving a car with gas cannisters in the boot?

No, that would be accurat reporting. Unless they had interviewed the bombers and seen evidence of their nationality they could hardly claim it as fact could they.......

You really do seem desperately keen to play it down, I wonder why.....
