No risk, however no doubt I would feel unsatisfied by police response.
 
Whilst it's a horrible story it's very rare that you get stabbed for no reason. If they were 'waiting' for him there must have been a reason.

I don't doubt that most teens killed genuinely are 'good kids' and undeserving. However they aren't all angels despite what the parents who barely raised them say. I could have wondered off down the road when I was younger, met up with my friends and happy slapped the bejesus out of some poor people on a regular basis. My mother would have been none the wiser and most likely brought whatever story I fed her.

I don't agree that being stabbed to death is a resolution for any upset caused verbally or by your actions but that seems to be the culture nowadays. People can't smack each other and be done with it anymore.
 
i think this is the beginning of the end. London is horrific.
we can't fix the unemployment problem.
we also can't stop single mothers pumping more kids.
it's a cycle of positive feedback.

multicultural experiment gone wrong.

He clearly was stabbed for a reason here, but there are plenty of stabbing cases I've read about in London lately that had no prior motive.


The other thing I think can't be ignored is media influence.
I know there were plenty of studies done in the past, but I think it's obvious that a lot of youths idolize gangster types that they see in the music industry

Maybe so I remember actor that was in Harry Potter and was killed by a black lad, he was known to the police for vilonet crime but was on the streets, shame the Tories used a cracked down to get in power, Labour were useless, these lot are just as bad, build more prisons, send people down caught carrying a knife but would that make these people thing twice about carrying a knife?

Now I grew up in circumstances which led me into the gang culture of the time, yet we never even thought about stabbing someone 24 times or actually attempting to kill someone.

What kind of things are we teaching our children if by the time they are 14 they have this kind of mentality?

And while I understand the fear induced by such gangs amongst the local people, what is going on with the 'wall of silence' met by the Police in this situation...

A failure of the state to impose the laws it passed by means of fitting punishment. In other words, they can do what ever they like as no one is going to do anything about it, on the of chance they do it will be nothing more than a slap on the wrist.
 
I truly do not believe prison is the answer. We already lock up more people than any other country in Europe and that plainly has not worked so why do more of what we know does not work.

It goes much deeper than that. Just as availability of guns is not what causes America's problems. Canada has more guns per capita but doesn't have America's problems. Its plainly cultural.

I certainly don't have the answer but I'm sure prison isn't the answer.
 
On seeing this thread, my thoughts ran as follows:

Thought 1: This will be an article about a black gang killing.
Thought 2: The poster is Castiel. This will be a trap whereby the victim is actually black but the killer is white.
Thought 3: It doesn't matter who was killed or by whom, blacks will be blamed one way or another.

Looks like I was pretty close, huh?
 
if i ruled
we would copy israel and build a wall around the areas where the problematic people live and have check-points where they have to show ID when they come out. kind of, let them have their own country within our country.

I just wonder how long it'll be before there's a Facebook page commemorating this "fallen soulja", if there isn't already.

Gang culture is out of hand amongst the youth of today. It's always been there, but it wasn't always a case of guaranteed fatalities. You used to go face off against another gang with your fists, and when you were out you were out; no stamping on downed heads and sure as hell no "shanking" or guns.

Knifes are nothing new in gang warfare.

It used to be razorblades (actual shaving ones) in the 1930's for example.

Glasgow witnessed actual pitched battles everyone hacking at each other.

I wasn't around then, though, so can't say for sure. :D

I think the blacks have taken enough of the blame for stuff recently, this racism is getting out of hand. Why don't we pick on some white people for a change, such as The Jews.

To be honest I didn't know what the ethnicity of the victim was, neither did I think it important.

I am just pretty horrified that this sort of thing seems to be becoming more prevalent and no-one seems to be doing anything constructive to deal with it.

Do we now know the ethnicity of the killer now?
