Didn't quite make it all the way up to Lower Largo, but my Plan B actually turned out rather well on Saturday morning.

Got a few keepers out of it, will hopefully post a few more over the next couple of days.

Processed from RAW (no HDR or photomatixing:p), filter used was a 10stop ND

CC most welcome

Thanks for looking

Comparison time!

Sorry if the image is a bit big for your screen.. you need a bigger monitor..

I think they are both equally as stunning although i do like the cleanliness of the one without the rock.

Thank you for the kind replies guys

Great shot. Shame about the two rock in the distance though, they ruin the whole picture somewhat. Can you clone them out?
Cheers mate, I did actually toy with the idea of cloning them out but couldn't decide on it at the time

Stunning photo. Where about in Fife was this?
Thanks, this was taken at the beach at Dysart which is part of Kirkcaldy

Thanks for the feedback Gord, good job on the cloning - I do think that it works well with the rock (or plesiosaur ;)) removed, definitely gives it a cleaner look.

I'll be revisiting this one pretty soon as I think the horizon is just slightly distorted still, and that red rock in the foreground could be muted a little.

Cheers all

This is the kind of photo I wanted to get in Cornwall. Unfortunately I hadn't fully learnt how to get exposures longer than 30 seconds with my 10 stop ND so ended up using a high ISO and getting very noisy pictures. Plus the weather was rubbish. I wish I had learnt about bulb mode before I went!!!

:(

I learnt my lesson though :)

Very nice.

I would also leave the rock in. The rock leads the viewers eye to the horizon, without the rock my eyes keep looking at the foreground rock.
