looking 4 a motherboard for q6600

hi everyone,
looking to build my first system and after a lot of research i find i have a problem selecting a motherboard.looking to run a q6600 quad core with 4 gb
ram.a single 8800gtx,
seems everytime i look at reviews always someone has a problem,looking to spend around £100-£150, previous board was an abit an9 32 sli which gave me no problems,asus striker extreme nvidia 680i sli seems to draw me in.
is the 680 chipset better than the 650.should i be lookin at asus,abit,gygabite,

then you should be looking to go for a p35/x38 chipset, Asus or Gigabyte are usually the favourites, if you are going to use a single graphics card.
