Trying to rebuild my work torch that the local scum nicked out of my van last week. Can pick up an ammo tin for a tenner from the suplus outlets, i've got the batteries (2x 12v 7Ah), can get hold of a pair of cheapo spotlights from a carboot sale, but i can't find anywhere that sells the bulbs i need!

The standard 55w lamps eat through the batteries pretty quickly, so i'm trying to find some 20w lamps (as was fitted to my old torch when i got it)

Any ideas? fleabay didn't yield any useful results and that's pretty much all i can think of right now :D

cheers

Nothing there :(

This is my old torch, i just chopped the output circuit around a bit so i could switch the bulbs myself, not rely on the mains relay.

But i'm buggered if i'm going to pay sixty quid for it!

I'm not explaing myself very clearly, it's a conventional fog/spot light bulb, but it's rated at 20w not 55w.

I've had somebody suggest using a 24v bulb. Is this workable? Any idea how the lamp would behave? Would it just give a dull orange glow? (which is what i would expect)

Cheers

heh, ultraleds, haven't ordered from them for days! :D The torch uses H3 bulbs so it can fit into a good reflector, i sometimes work in absolute darkness and my smaller torches don't cut it. (beat hell out of my shins a few times falling over things)
