Hi,

I'm looking for a cheap camera that takes sharp macros. How close? 3-5 inches.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. :)

This is not for professional use.

I'm not paying for it, my company is. But i'm going to assume the budget won't stretch much further than £200. This is just amateur stuff, not looking for ultra high quality photos.

Something like a fuji finepix s9600 has a macro and super macro mode that will allow you to get right up close to your subject and retain a resonable depth of field. Cost is around £200 I think. Look out for bridge cameras with macro mode, this is probably your best bet without going down the SLR + macro lens route.
