I have looked at shock proof ones, but they are way to expensive.

Nothing technical as they are 5(almost 6) & 7.

Would like it to have SD card slot. Its own rechargeable battery. Some optical zoom, and image stabilization.

Oh and under £100 as I will need to get 2 for Christmas.

Thanx in advance for any help.

Buy something cheap and solid from a second-hand source - cash converters perhaps or anywhere similar. Should be able to pick up a 2-3MP camera for a fiver - more than kids that age need, they won't care if its not new and if they break it wbuy anotehr one.

Don't fisher price and other companies like that sell childrens cameras, ok only 1 or 2 megapixels but they are designed to be dropped etc. Jessops do one for £29 RAYOLA Digital Camera 2.1 megapixels in funky colours etc.

I would like them to be able to take good pics. My daughter has been using my mums and has taken some nice pics.

Fisher price are just junk.

Have a look at the ones made by V-Tech; they take proper photos and take an SD card etc. They are also built in such a way that they could take a drop. I think they are about £50 each. :-)

Are fine - they're going to take good pictures in the same way a 10MP camera will so there's no need to have anything "better".

If you really feel you must spend lots of money on your kids for cameras for christmas then you could try somehting like the Fuji XP10 which is water, cold and drop-proofed and can be had for around £100-£130.

I still think its a waste of money though, but I'm not you :)
